To address recurring safety and operational concerns, there will be a detour on Route 191 effective Monday, Aug. 31, 2026.

During the detour, Route 191 will not provide service to existing stops along the affected portions below. The detour is expected until February 2027.

Route 191 will no longer travel along:

• McHelin Ave. between Wardlow Rd. and Bataan Ave.
• Bataan Ave. between McHelin Ave. and Carson St.
• Carson St. between Bataan Ave. and Santa Fe Ave.

Bus stops that will no longer have Route 191 service:

• Carson St.: at Evonda Ave., Stops #4084 and #4052; at Harbor View Ave., Stops #0123 and #0112
• Bataan Ave. and Carson St., Stops #0124 and #0111
• McHelen Ave.: at 219th St., Stops #0110 and #0125; at 220th St., Stops #0109 and #0126; at 221st Street, Stops #0108 and #0127
• Wardlow Rd.: at McHelen Ave., Stops #2600 and #0107; at Webster Ave., Stops #0106 and #0129

Alternative service and schedule information: 

• Route 4: Serves the affected Carson Street area and operates Monday through Saturday
• Route 8: Serves the McHelen Avenue/Wardlow Road and Wardlow Road/Webster Avenue areas and operates Monday through Saturday
• Route 191: 
  • Board at Santa Fe Avenue and Warnock Way
  • Hughes Way and Via Oro Avenue
  • Via Oro Avenue near 3901 Via Oro
  • Carson Street and Via Oro Avenue.
  • Service operates seven days a week, approximately 5:00 a.m. to midnight, every 30 minutes on weekdays, every 40 minutes on weekends and every 60 minutes at night

Please note, bus stop #0105 at Wardlow Rd. and the northeast railroad tracks, and bus stop #0130 at Wardlow Rd. and southwest railroad tracks, were discontinued due to safety reasons with the August 2026 Service Change and are not available as alternative stops.
