To get customers to the polls, LBT will offer free rides on June 7.
LONG BEACH, CALIF. (June 1, 2022) To encourage voter turnout, Long Beach Transit (LBT) will be offering free transportation on Election Day to get new and current customers to the polls.
“Our mission of connecting communities and moving people is even more important on Election Day,” President and CEO Kenneth A. McDonald said. “By offering free rides, voters can drop off ballots or get to the polls and have their voices heard. LBT welcomes the opportunity to provide accessible transportation to all customers on June 7.”
In addition to its regularly scheduled, fixed-route bus service, LBT will offer free rides for its eligible Dial-A-Lift customers. Dial-A-Lift is LBT’s paratransit service for those with permanent mobility impairments. Regular fare will be required on LBT’s water taxis.
