Customer Spotlight

Meet Nicole Alvarado, a LBT customer who moved to Long Beach from Pico Rivera about two years ago. She recently started working at UCLA as a Book and Paper Conservator, where she preserves unique and valuable library and archival collections across a variety of formats.

Nicole first began her journey using public transportation when she rode with LBT to get to Saint Joseph’s High School in Lakewood where she was a student. Most recently she began riding on LBT’s UCLA/Westwood Commuter Express to make the commute to her job.

“I started taking the bus in high school and just never stopped. I love how easy it is to get where I need to go, without the hassle of driving myself,” says Nicole. “When I started my new job, I knew that I wanted to make the commute through public transportation to save on gas, and I was so happy when I learned that LBT offers a direct route to UCLA.”

To make the commute even easier, Nicole purchases the quarterly UCLA/Westwood Commuter Express Pass which offers her unlimited rides on LBT buses and the commuter shuttle. The pass is available to all UCLA students, staff and faculty. Learn more about this pass and other transportations options for UCLA students, staff and faculty at transportation.ucla.edu.

If you don’t have an affiliation with UCLA, you can still get a monthly pass that includes unlimited rides on the shuttle and LBT buses for $120. Visit ridelbt.com/ucla for more information.

Thank you for riding with LBT, Nicole!
