LONG BEACH, CALIF. (Dec. 9, 2021) – Jennifer Kumiyama was appointed by Long Beach City Mayor Dr. Robert Garcia and confirmed by the City Council to serve a four-year term on the Long Beach Transit Board of Directors.

Director Kumiyama is a resident of the 1st Council District and served as the most recent Chair of the City of Long Beach Citizens Advisory Commission on Disabilities. She is also a board member of the Disabled Resources Center and the Asian and Pacific Islanders with Disabilities in California. Ms. Kumiyama serves as Secretary of the Long Beach Democratic Women’s Study Club and Vice President of the Willmore City Heritage Association.

“The LBT Board of Directors has the pleasure to welcome Director Kumiyama as a new member,” said Board Chair Michael Clemson. “She joins a board who is committed to sustainability and accessibility, and we are excited to have her strengthen our presence in the communities we serve.”

Ms. Kumiyama is a regular customer of LBT, as well as other forms of public transportation. Currently, she works as a Client Services Manager for Progressive Solutions Consulting.

“Public transportation is essential in our community. As an LBT customer, I am very excited to join the board,” said Ms. Kumiyama. “I am looking forward to continuing to improve accessibility in public transportation in our City and surrounding service areas.”
