Meet Ignacio Pimental

Ignacio Pimental is a Transit Service Delivery Supervisor who will be celebrating 29 years at LBT this month (congrats Ignacio!). In his role as Supervisor, Ignacio oversees bus operator performance and provides coaching and feedback.   

Ignacio’s passion for public transit led him to pursue a career at LBT. “Early in my career I worked at Foothill Transit and then I become a bus operator for Montebello bus lines. While I was working at Montebello, I applied to be a Supervisor at LBT. After I started working here, I knew right away that this was where I was supposed to be.”   

What Ignacio enjoys most about the job is helping people in the community and working with the bus operators. He says, “I really enjoy working with my team, it’s taught me how to not only be a coach but a counselor as well. I also enjoy getting to serve the community, LBT has a big role in the City of Long Beach and its surrounding cities, it’s in a sense like a lifeline because so many people depend on us to get them to where they need to go.”  

During his free time, you can find Ignacio in the kitchen working on his cooking skills. His son is a chef which inspired Ignacio’s new passion for cooking. And when time allows, you can also find him out on the hiking trails with family.
