Meet Alex

Alex Ramirez is a Long Beach native and student at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Alex is also taking classes at Long Beach City College (LBCC) and has been riding Long Beach Transit (LBT) for as long as he can remember.
Ā

ā€œIā€™ve been using public transportation my whole life,ā€ shared Alex. ā€œI use LBT to go all over the city and often take Metro to hangout in Los Angeles with friends and family. You can usually catch me riding LBT Routes 91, 92, 93 or 94 because they get me to and from school or work.ā€Ā

Alex is also an avid cyclist and often takes his bike on the bus. ā€œItā€™s really easy to get around Long Beach with your bike on the bus,ā€ shared Alex. ā€œMy advice for cyclists who might be nervous about taking your bike on the bus for the first time, is to make sure your bike is locked in on the bike rack before boarding and to let the operator know as you approach your stop that you will be unloading your bike.ā€Ā

Alex also recommends that students take advantage of reduced or complimentary fare programs that are available to them. If you are a CSULB student, LBT offers the Go Beach! Pass. There are two options available for theĀ Go Beach! Pass: a 30- day pass for $40 (valued at $65) or a 150-day semester pass for $100 (with a value of $325).Ā Ā If you are a student at LBCC, LBT is participating in the GoPass Program,Ā which offers all LBCC students complimentary fare.Ā Learn more about the GoPass and how to register, at ridelbt.com/GoPass.Ā  Ā

Thank you for riding with LBT, Alex!Ā
