Meet Dorian
Dorian Bonner is a dedicated member of the team that works for the office of Mayor Rex Richardson in the City of Long Beach. Dorian’s journey with Long Beach Transit began during his college years at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), where he relied on public transit for his daily commute. He has been a proud LBT customer for ten years now, relying on public transportation not only to get to work but also for running personal errands.
“Riding the bus is about more than just transportation—it’s a lifeline for many people. For some, public transportation is their only way of getting around,” said Dorian. “A robust transit system is essential to enhancing mobility around our entire city. LBT does a great job of making sure everyone can use this really great service.”
Dorian also recognizes the significant environmental benefits of using public transportation, reducing the pollution caused by vehicle emissions in the communities we serve. LBT prides itself on being environmentally conscious, with a fleet of 100% alternatively fueled buses, including battery electric buses (BEB), compressed natural gas (CNG) and hybrid buses.
For those new to riding the bus, Dorian offers some helpful advice, “Make sure your TAP card is loaded up for the trip there and back and look ahead at the routes you’re taking before leaving. There is a great trip planner on LBT’s website, which will often show you multiple options to get you to where you want to go.”
In his free time, Dorian enjoys spending time with friends, capturing photographs in Downtown Long Beach and practicing archery at the El Dorado Regional Park archery range. Fun fact: the 1984 Olympic Games archery competitions were held at El Dorado!
