Employee Spotlight

Meet Erlin Martinez, Long Beach Transit’s Government Relations Officer who joined the team six years ago as a college intern. She is part of LBT’s Government Relations team, who partners with local government offices, elected officials, cities in LBT’s service area, and other community stakeholders to help LBT meet its strategic goals and address state and federal transportation policies.

Erlin has always been passionate about sustainability and environmental regulation. She attended California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), where she received a bachelor’s degree in business economics and a minor in environmental policy. During her time at CSULB, she was also involved in various environmental clubs.

Erlin’s passion for public transportation and sustainability led her to pursue a career at LBT. “I used to live in San Diego and used public transit for years. When I moved to Long Beach my passion for public transportation continued to grow as did my curiosity on how sustainability in transit worked.”

In her free time Erlin likes to stay active by running. Outside of work, she can be found running with her running club or training for marathons.
