Gus Castellanos

Long Beach Transit Employee Spotlight Gus Castellanos

Meet Gus Castellanos

Gus Castellanos is a Mechanic who joined LBT 22 years ago. He advanced from a C-Level Mechanic to an A-Level Mechanic in 2004, and as a team member, he has been instrumental in guiding new mechanics.

He considers the education and training he has gotten at LBT invaluable. “We’re learning every day, and that’s the best part for me,” said Gus. “We get new buses in, and learning the new technology that makes our fleet more sustainable is great.”

He worked the graveyard shift for years so he could learn and gain experience with new buses. Gus attributes his success to his coworkers, “given everything we have experienced in the last couple of years, everyone should be recognized.”

When he’s not learning about our buses, he can be found bike riding outdoors, watching movies, and has lived in Long Beach most of his life.

We rely on our skilled Mechanics to maintain our fleet of buses and regularly hire for these positions. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the LBT team, visit ridelbt.com/careers to see a list of open positions.
