Meet Jose Ocampo​

Jose Ocampo is a Stops and Zones Technician who began his career with LBT 25 years ago as a Custodian before joining the Stops and Zones team in 1998. Jose is a part of a team of 20 on the Stops and Zones team that maintains LBT’s 2,000+ bus stops in Long Beach and surrounding areas. Having nearly three decades of experience under his belt, Jose helps inspire and motivate the team, ensuring bus stops are cleaned and maintained for customers.

Jose says the most enjoyable part of his job is staying active and on the move. His supervisor shares, “Jose has always gone above and beyond what has been asked of him. He is a team player, always willing to assist his coworkers.”

Born and raised in Long Beach, Jose loves that his job allows him to serve the community he feels so connected to. When he’s not at work, Jose loves watching movies – with a soft spot for romantic dramas (his favorite is the classic A Walk to Remember).

LBT began taking extra cleaning measures to help combat the spread of COVID-19 in March of last year and the Stops and Zones team has been on the frontline as an essential workforce ensuring bus stops are cleaned and disinfected daily. LBT is grateful for Jose and the Stops and Zones team for helping LBT to keep the community moving safely!
