Meet Marcus McGhee

Marcus McGhee, Manager of Information Technology Applications, joined Long Beach Transit in April 2023, leading the team responsible for planning, maintaining and delivering information technology solutions for LBT.    

Marcus has over a decade of IT Systems experience and is passionate about his work.  

“I see my role at LBT as supporting our whole agency,” shared Marcus. “I take pride in the work we do here and helping my colleagues in other departments as we work to get people to where they need to go each day. I also love being able to help bring new systems and technology into LBT as we look towards the future.”  

In his free time Marcus enjoys riding his motorcycle and spending time breaking down sports games with his son, who has a passion for sports journalism.  

Marcus encourages young people who are interested in working in IT, to start at home. “Help your parents, your grandparents, or even your friends with their IT questions. Also, work on getting different certificates in different areas of IT, it helps to improve your resume and overall knowledge. Technology is constantly growing and improving, so it’s important to stay on top of the latest trends.”
