Meet Marvyn 

Marvyn Bernache is a Mechanic who recently joined Long Beach Transit nine months ago. He was a mechanic in the Army for 10 years before joining LBT. Thank you for your service, Marvyn! 

Marvyn grew up in Downey and had seen LBT buses driving around growing up but never imagined he’d end up working for LBT. 

“After I got out of the Army, I was looking to continue my career as a mechanic and talked with LBT recruiters at a local job fair,” shared Marvyn. “I ended up applying for the position and haven’t looked back since.” 

Marvyn has adapted quickly to working on our buses and credits the team atmosphere in the Maintenance department for his easy transition.   

“Everyone has been super helpful and patient with showing me the ropes,” shared Marvyn. “I’ve learned so much about our buses and everything that goes into maintaining our fleet.”  

In his free time, you will probably catch Marvyn taking in a Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) game with friends and family. He describes himself as a major soccer fan and does his best to stay up to date with the team.
