Meet Matthew Parker
Matthew Parker, a Long Beach City College (LBCC) student, has been riding with LBT since middle school.
“My parents showed me how to ride at an early age, and when I got to middle school, I started taking the bus to school with my friends,” said Matthew.
Matthew is a music production major at LBCC who enjoys listening to his music while riding the bus. He often finds himself striking up a conversation with fellow riders.
“I’ve met some really cool people riding on Long Beach Transit,” said Matthew. “A lot of older people have some amazing stories to tell, and I enjoy hearing about their lives while we wait for the bus.”
Matthew recently found out about the LBT GoPass program at LBCC and is in the process of getting his new TAP card.
“I was excited to hear about the GoPass. It’s really going to help a lot of students get to where they need to go.”
If you are a current LBCC student and still need to register for your GoPass, follow the steps below:
- Log in to your Viking Portal
- Click the Viking Student Systems tab
- Click Student Services, and under “My Participation Agreements” submit the GoPass Transportation Agreement.
Tap cards will be mailed to your address listed in your Viking Portal 10 -14 days after submission of your agreement. Learn more about the GoPass, at ridelbt.com/GoPass.
