Meet Norma

Norma Sanchez is a Long Beach resident who relies on Long Beach Transit to connect with family, friends and explore events around Long Beach and neighboring cities. Norma’s interview was conducted in Spanish, so her quotes are included in both languages. 

Norma has been using LBT’s services for two years to travel around Long Beach and attend events like the LBUSD Spanish Cultural Heritage Celebration, where she met the LBT team. 

“My favorite route is the 191 because it takes me all the way from Downtown Long Beach to several surrounding cities like Lakewood and Cerritos, where I can visit family and friends,” shared Norma. 

“Mi ruta favorita es el 191 porque me lleva desde el centro de Long Beach hasta varias ciudades cercanas como Lakewood y Cerritos, donde puedo visitar a mi familia y amigos,” compartió Norma. 

Norma also loves that Long Beach offers students a free bus pass through the GoPass program. She encourages her children to use their GoPass to commute to and from school. “Using public transportation is actually very easy now, especially with apps that help you plan and map out your trip beforehand. The trip planners tell you when to leave, how long your trip will be, and where you need to go.” 

“Usar el transporte público es en realidad muy fácil ahora, especialmente con las aplicaciones que te ayudan a planear y organizar tu viaje con anticipación. Los planificadores de viajes te dicen cuándo debes salir, cuánto durará tu viaje y a dónde debes ir.”
