Lilia Montoya, Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Long Beach, CA – Long Beach Transit (LBT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lilia Montoya as the agency’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer. She assumed her role on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, and comes with 17 years of leadership experience in the transportation industry.
In her role as Deputy CEO, Ms. Montoya will provide leadership in formulating and achieving LBT’s objectives, strategic direction, organizational effectiveness, employee development and performance management.
“As a first-generation child of immigrants, I experienced challenges, and I developed the drive and passion to serve my community,” Ms. Montoya said. “I’ve dedicated my passion to transportation, and I look forward to serving LBT Customers and the community.”
Ms. Montoya has worked in the public sector for over 30 years and comes to LBT with the knowledge of overseeing transportation budgets, operations and administration. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Chief Operations Officer at the LA County Metro Transportation Authority, where she directed operational budget functions, provided policy recommendations, and represented the agency in the community. She also served as the Director of Transportation at the Los Angeles Unified School District and held other leadership roles with two additional transportation organizations.
