LBT World Cup Bus at Downtown Bus Stop

Long Beach, CA – Long Beach Transit (LBT) announced the successful completion of its service during the World Cup Tournament, which connected Downtown Long Beach directly to all eight World Cup matches held at Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi) in Inglewood.

Operating June 12 through July 10, 2026, LBT provided dedicated match-day transportation that gave local and international fans a reliable, low-cost alternative to driving to the stadium as part of Metro’s Enhanced World Cup Service, a coordinated regional effort involving Southern California Regional Transit Providers.

Over the course of the tournament, LBT’s World Cup service:

• Transported more than 7,400 customers between Long Beach and Los Angeles Stadium
• Averaged 935 customers per match, with a single-match record of 1,158 customers on June 25, 2026
• Operated 193 bus trips, with buses departing every 8 to 10 minutes
• Earned outstanding customer satisfaction, with more than 9 in 10 customers saying they would recommend the service to friends, family, and colleagues
• Recorded that approximately 90% of customers shared the service was very easy to use, from boarding in Long Beach to arriving at the stadium
• Successfully delivered the service with more than 130 LBT employees, including bus operators, mechanics, field supervisors, customer service representatives, dispatchers, maintenance personnel, and support staff

In addition to match-day service, LBT connected customers from across the city to its Transit Gallery on First St., steps from the World Cup soccer celebrations in Downtown Long Beach on Pine Ave.
