Long Beach, CA – Long Beach Transit (LBT) will offer complimentary service to everyone for Transit Equity Day on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, which celebrates the birthday of civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks.
Transit Equity Day is celebrated by various transit agencies, and it serves as a meaningful tribute to Parks’ tireless efforts in transforming the social, environmental, and economic well-being of diverse communities. LBT proudly carries forward her legacy by connecting people to the places they want to go.
“Public transportation is the great equalizer, and we take pride in offering complimentary rides on Transit Equity Day,” said Kenneth A. McDonald, President and CEO. “LBT connects communities, and we recognize the legacy of Rosa Parks in making public transportation accessible to all.”
LBT maintains an unwavering dedication to sustainable and affordable transportation. Our entire fleet of buses operates on alternative fuels, emblematic of our commitment to fostering healthier communities.
