Service Changes

Long Beach Transit has three annual service changes in February, June and August. Learn about upcoming changes, improvements in service and other announcements below.

LBT’s next service change will go into effect on Sunday, August 25, 2024. 

Upcoming Service Change

Major Changes

Route 151 – 4th Street  

Route 151 will end service at the Transit Gallery. Frequency for Route 151 will increase to 30 minutes everyday.  

Customers wishing to reach Cesar E. Chavez Park and travel to destinations west of Magnolia Avenue can utilize Route 181.  

Bus Stop Changes

Routes 41/46 – Bus Stop Relocations and Removals

Relocations  

  • Bus stop #4047 at the northeast corner of Anaheim St. and Daisy Ave. will move 140 ft. east to the northwest corner of Anaheim St. and Magnolia Ave. Bus stop #4047 is served by westbound Route 41.  
  • Bus stop #0471 at the southeast corner of Anaheim St. and Walnut Ave. will move 170 ft. west to the southwest corner of Anaheim St. and Walnut Ave. Bus stop #0471 is served by eastbound Routes 41 and 46. 

These changes will shorten walk times for customers transferring between other LBT routes.  

Removals 

  • Bus stop #0470, served by eastbound Routes 41 and 46, at the southeast corner of Anaheim St. and Hoffman Ave. will be removed. This change will improve safety for customers, as bus stop #0470 is adjacent to an active driveway. 
  • Bus stop #0077, served by Routes 41 and 45, at the northwest corner of Anaheim St. and Chestnut Ave. will also be removed. 

Route 101 – Bus Stop Relocation  

Bus stop #1274 at the northwest corner of Carson St. and Los Coyotes Diagonal will move 650 ft. east to the northeast corner of Carson St. and Los Coyotes Diagonal. Bus stop #1274 is served by westbound Route 101. 

This change will improve safety and shorten walk times for McBride High School students.  

Route 112 – Bus Stop Removals  

  • Bus stop #1448 at the northwest corner of Spring St. and Clark Ave. will move 300 ft. south to the southwest corner of Spring St. and Clark Ave. Bus stop #1448 is served by southbound Route 112. 
  • Bus stop #4070 at the southwest corner of Clark Ave. And 29th St., which is also served by southbound Route 112, will be removed. Bus stop #4069 at the southeast corner of Clark Ave. and 29th St., which is served by northbound Route 112, will also be removed.

These changes will improve customer safety and LBT operations, to prepare for upcoming construction in Fall 2024 on Clark Ave. and 29th St. 

Updates to Signs at Bus Stops

Bus Stop Information   

LBT is launching new signs to improve customer navigation at select bus stops. We value customer feedback and will use it to expand and improve the signage at all bus stops in the future.  

Navigating our system will be easier with clear, intuitive signs and maps. This enhanced wayfinding effort will provide customers with the following benefits: 

  • Revised map orientation
  • Text for Next instructions  
  • QR code to routes page to view full schedules  
  • Contact information
  • Color-coded routes

Additional Trippers

School trippers will return at peak student travel times to existing routes. These services are subject to change based on resource availability during peak student riding times.  

Below are the routes and respective schools where additional service may be offered: 

Minor Time Adjustments for Routes

Routes that will have time adjustments of less than five minutes:
101, 151, 181 and 182.

*Please be sure to check bus departure times on the LBT Trip Planner or your favorite map app. 

Paused Routes

Routes that continue to be paused:
Routes 52, 81, 96, 176.

If you need assistance planning your trip, please contact our Customer Service team at 562.591.2301. LBT ‘s Call Center is open Monday–Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additionally, the Transit & Visitor Information Center downtown,  remain open on Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
