Service Changes

Long Beach Transit has three annual service changes in February, June and August. Learn about upcoming changes, improvements in service and other announcements below.

Major Changes

Route 21

On weekends, the last northbound Route 21 trip in the evening at 11:05 p.m. will be extended to end at Artesia Blvd. instead of Carson Street. 

Route 71 – Orange Avenue 

Weekday frequency on Route 71 will improve from every 40 minutes to every 30 minutes between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Bus Stop Changes

Routes 172/173 – Bus Stop Removal 

Bus stop #1910 at the northeast corner of Gridley Rd. and 183rd St. will be removed due to safety precautions. Bus stop #1910 is served by eastbound Routes 172 and 173. 

This change will improve bus operation safety and bus speed reliability. 

Route 51 – Bus Stop Reactivation and Removals 

  • Bus stop #0550 at the northeast corner of Long Beach Blvd. and Burnett St. will reactivate, after it was closed due to long-term construction. This change will improve customer safety and the bus stop has been enhanced with new amenities. Bus stop #0550 is served by northbound Route 51.
  • Bus stop #0551 at the northeast corner of Long Beach Blvd. and 25th St. will be removed. This change will improve bus speed reliability. Bus stop #0551 is served by northbound Route 51.
  • Bus stop #0612 at the southwest corner of Long Beach Blvd. and 25th St. will be removed. This change will improve bus speed reliability. Bus stop #0612 is served by southbound Route 51. 

Route 41/46 – Bus Stop Removals and Relocations 

  • Bus stop #4046 at the northwest corner of Anaheim St. and Pine Ave. will be removed. Bus stop #4046 is served by westbound Routes 41 and 46. 
  • Bus stop #4026 at the southeast corner of Anaheim St. and Pine Ave. will be removed. Bus stop #4026 is served by eastbound Routes 41 and 46.

These changes will improve bus operation safety and improve bus speed reliability. 

  • Bus stop #0509 at the northwest corner of Anaheim St. and Orange Ave. will move 130 ft. west, to the northeast corner of Anaheim St. and Alamitos Ave. This change will improve wheelchair access and customer safety. Bus stop #0509 is served by westbound Routes 41 and 46. 
  • Bus stop #0510 at the northwest corner of Anaheim St. and Alamitos Ave. will no longer serve westbound Routes 41 and 46. Bus stop #0510 will only be served by northbound Route 71. This change will improve bus speed reliability. 

    Route 91/92/93/94 – Bus Stop Removals 

    • Bus stop #1041 at the northeast corner of Bellflower Blvd. and Parkcrest St. will be removed due to safety concerns. Bus stop #1041 is served by eastbound Routes 91 and 93.
    • Bus stop #1086 at the northwest corner of Bellflower Blvd. and Parkcrest St. will be removed also due to safety concerns. Bus stop #1086 is served by westbound Routes 91 and 93.

    These changes will improve bus operation safety and bus speed reliability. 

    • Bus stop #1127 at the northwest corner of 7th St. and Elm St. will be removed due to road safety precautions. Bus stop #1127 is served by westbound Routes 91, 92, 93 and 94.
    • Bus stop #0712 at the southeast corner of 6th St. and Elm St. will be removed. Bus stop #0712 is served by eastbound Routes 91, 92, 93 and 94.

    These changes will improve bus operation safety and bus speed reliability. 

      Minor Time Adjustments for Routes

      Routes 1, 2, 4, 8, 21, 22, 23, 37, 41, 51, 61, 71, 91, 93, 103, 104, 131, 141, 171, 172, 173, 175, and 190.

      Paused Routes

      Routes that continue to be paused:
      Routes 52, 81, 96, 176.

      If you need assistance planning your trip, please contact our Customer Service team at 562.591.2301. LBT ‘s Call Center is open Monday–Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

      Additionally, the Transit & Visitor Information Center downtown,  remain open on Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
