Meet Maricela Solis

Maricela is a dedicated Transit Service Delivery Supervisor who has been with LBT for the past nine years. In her role, Maricela leads a team of 25 bus operators, providing essential support and coaching. At LBT, there are a total of 27 supervisor positions responsible for overseeing 500 bus operators. 

Maricela grew up on the westside in Long Beach and proudly graduated from Cabrillo High School (Go Jaguars!). She brings a unique perspective to her role because she used to be a customer herself for years before joining LBT. Her firsthand experiences help her guide bus operators and connect with the community. 

“I grew up taking LBT everywhere, so I have always been familiar with our routes,” shared Maricela. “I started in transit with a different agency, but always knew that I wanted to work for LBT and serve the community I grew up in.” 

When asked about her favorite part of the job, Maricela shared, “My favorite part about my job is the different people I get to meet every day. I love interacting with the public. Long Beach is such a diverse community, and the people and personalities I come across make my job worth it.”  

She summed it up nicely, further sharing that “at the end of the day, LBT is helping take our customers to places they need to go to, from school, to work or to the grocery store. LBT and our operators really help move the community, making everyday life better.” 

Outside of work, Maricela enjoys spending time with her family and doing arts and crafts. She also just earned her associate degree from Cerritos College this last spring in business administration. Congratulations, Maricela!
