Meet Patricia Jackson

Patricia Jackson retired from Long Beach Transit in 2022 after serving as a bus operator for 31 years! During her time behind the wheel, Patricia is remembered by many for her kind and outgoing personality. In fact, Patricia was recently inducted into the LBT Hall of Fame for her dedicated service to the community. Congratulations Patricia!

Her favorite part about working at LBT was meeting new people, whether it was her colleagues or the customers riding the bus. “I am a very outgoing person, and I am always smiling. I enjoyed meeting so many great people and characters while working at LBT. It’s a time in my life that I’ll never forget,” she shared.

Patricia and her daughter, Tanisha, rode the bus nearly everywhere while Tanisha was growing up. They would frequently take the bus to go to school, the mall and the beach. Patricia’s favorite route is the 121, which operates along scenic Ocean Blvd., and Tanisha’s favorite route is any one that gets her to the mall!

Patricia is enjoying retired life and having the ability to spend more time with friends and family. You can still catch Patricia riding the bus, and she often encourages her new friends at the local senior center to ride the bus to explore the city.

“Riding the bus is great for so many reasons, you save on gas, save time in traffic, and you’re always safe,” shared Patricia.
